Dale E. Butcher “The Man of Steel”, 71, of New Sharon, died on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Serenity House in Oskaloosa. A celebration of life was held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, December 3, at the Heart of Worship Church in Lynnville. Memorials to Dale’s family may be left at the funeral home.

John W. Geyer, died on October 4, 2017. Memorial services were held at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. on Monday October 16, 2017 with inurnment in the columbarium at his church at a later date. Myrna D. Phillips, 92 of Austin, Minn., died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Cedars of Austin. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Michael Olmsted officiating. Visitation was held at the church one hour before the service on Monday.

Lois Castner, 98, formerly of New Sharon, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Northern Mahaska Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Oskaloosa, where she has been a resident for the last seven years. Louise Whitehead, 91, of New Sharon, died peacefully Monday evening, Aug. 7, 2017 at the Oskaloosa Care Center. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, at the Holland- Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon.
