Members of the Barnes City Council met for its first meeting of 2018 Monday. It was the first time in 34 years Rusty Lindenman was not at the table. In his place was newly elected Diane Henry. Henry was sworn in during Monday’s meeting.

Councilors dealt with a light agenda to begin the new calendar year. In December the council discussed a bill that was placed as a lien on the property at 550 Pine Street. City clerk Mollie Loving informed council the bill had been paid in full just days after the council meeting.

She said the bill, which included past due water, sewer and garbage, went into the general fund then she posted the funds to the respective accounts. The amount of the lien was $631. There remains a past due account to the current tenants that may result in a lien being filed.
