Eddy Council amends dog ordinance

EDDYVILLE – The Eddyville City Council opened their meeting Monday evening with a public hearing regarding amending the dog ordinance. Hearing no comments from the public or having received no written comments the hearing was closed.

During the business meeting a resolution carried to amend the ordinance regarding animal protection and control-vicious dogs. A second resolution passed to waive the second and third readings of the amendment to the ordinance. Copies of the amendment are available from the city clerk at the civic center.

Mayor Doug Greenlee set Trick or Treat Night in Eddyville for Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5:30–7:30 p.m.

Fencing around the frog pond was discussed, but the item was tabled until financing for the project has been determined. A motion carried to apply for the Ottumwa Legacy Foundation Grant for this fencing project.
