Mid-Prairie Sacks EBF

EDDYVILLE – The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Rockets (3-4) first play from scrimmage last Friday, Oct. 11 served as an omen for what was to come during their 62-7 loss to Mid-Prairie.

EBF junior quarterback Thane Alexander dropped back to pass and was sacked by Mid-Prairie’s Jack Baker. Alexander was unable to hold on to the ball and the Rockets first drive ended before they could gain any momentum. Mid-Prairie (4-3) took advantage of the turnover scoring on a 7-yard touchdown run.

The Rockets next two possessions ended in turnovers that Mid-Prairie was able to convert into touchdowns. In total the Rockets turned the ball over six times Friday night.

After falling behind 21-0 in the first quarter the Rockets got a spark of life when senior Kalen Walker returned the Mid-Prairie kick off 77 yards for a touchdown. Walker finished the game with 129 return yards with the Rockets’ only touchdown.
