NM Board Handles Routine Business

North Mahaska’s school board met in a special session on Friday, Feb. 22. The meeting was held on Friday to accommodate the North Mahaska girls and boys basketball team’s tournament games that were played on Monday and Thursday respectively. The board normally meets the third Monday of the month.

Board members faced a fairly routine agenda including personnel and budgetary items. High school principal Doug Ray told board members he had interviewed candidates for the science position and football coaching position that is open. He stated the football candidates, unfortunately, are not science teachers.

Ray said he hopes to have both positions ready for approval soon. The board accepted the resignations of two assistant coaches.

Wendy Smith resigned as assistant volleyball coach and Tara Grier has resigned as co-assistant coach for softball.
