BROOKLYN – Friday’s South Iowa Cedar League baseball game between North Mahaska and BGM could be an ESPN Classic if ESPN aired high school baseball games. North Mahaska rallied with three runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game at 3-3, but three walks with one out in the bottom of the 11th BGM’s Devon Maxfield hit a ball to the infield and Derek Maxfield scored to give the host Bears a 4-3 victory.

BGM got on the board with single runs in three of the first four innings before the North Mahaska defense shut the door.

The game appeared to be headed to a 3-0 loss for the Warhawks. Wit two out in the sixth Blake Readshaw singled and Ty Kelderman doubled to bring Readshaw in. Logan Shipley ripped a single to right field to cut the lead again. Shipley went to second on a pass ball and Luke Roose tied the game with a hit to right field.
