NM Jazz Regains Class 1A State Crown

It was an exhilarating experience for North Mahaska on April 4. The North Mahaska Jazz band joined fellow Mahaska County schools Oskaloosa and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont at the Iowa State Jazz Championships. This year’s event was held at the Scheman Center and CY Stephens Auditorium on the campus of Iowa State.

North Mahaska topped the Class 1A field elapsing Fort Dodge St. Edmond for the crown. Oskaloosa placed eighth in Class 3A. North Mahaska seniors Jac Munson and Caleb Gipple earned Outstanding Performer distinction for Class 1A.
